For the first time, we’re proud to bring together the expertise of Florence Paediatrics Orthotists and the specialised manufacturing team at Halo Medical to offer truly bespoke orthotic footwear, designed especially for children and young people.

This collaboration is a new and exciting opportunity from MedFac Orthotics, allowing families to benefit from the best of both worlds: expert clinical insight from Orthotists who understand growing feet, and precision-built footwear crafted by one of the UK’s leading orthotic manufacturers.

Custom Footwear Designed with Your Child in Mind

Our custom footwear is carefully tailored to support children who may be dealing with long-term developmental needs, neurological conditions, foot deformities, or post-surgical recovery. But it’s not just for complex cases—bespoke shoes can also provide extra comfort, help with posture and balance, and reduce fatigue for active kids who need that bit of extra support in their day-to-day lives.

Thanks to advanced 3D scanning, we can quickly and accurately capture the exact shape of your child’s feet during their appointment, although a plaster-of-paris mould may be required in some cases. These casts or scans are then sent straight to our UK-based workshop, where skilled technicians create each pair of shoes to match your child’s clinical needs and lifestyle. We aim for a smooth, mess-free experience in the clinic and a typical turnaround of just a few weeks.

Every pair of shoes is designed from the ground up, not modified from existing retail shoes, but built specifically for your child. Whether they require space for AFOs, extra ankle support, or just a better fit than high street shoes can offer, we’ll ensure the final footwear is functional, comfortable, and made to last.

Your Orthotist will also guide you on suitable shoe styles, colours, and fastening types, and help you decide what’s best for your child’s needs now, and as they continue to grow.
