Face-to-Face Assessment

Following your 5–10 minute video consultation, you or your child will be booked into the most appropriate face-to-face assessment based on your clinical needs. This will take place at a clinic under either Halo Medical or Florence Paediatrics, at a date, time, and location that works best for you. During this in-person assessment, our orthotists will begin the next steps in your treatment plan.

Your journey to better movement starts here.

What to Expect at Your Assessment

At your appointment, you’ll be welcomed by one of our fully trained orthotists, who will already be familiar with your case thanks to notes from the initial video consultation. They’ll take time to talk through your needs, gather relevant medical history if applicable, and perform a detailed clinical evaluation. This may include taking measurements, conducting a gait and functional assessment, 3D scanning, and, if needed, casting.

After the assessment, your orthotist will determine whether a bespoke orthosis is needed. If so, the measurements and scans will be sent to our manufacturing team to create your custom device. If an off-the-shelf solution is more appropriate, we offer a wide range of high-quality orthotic products that may be provided on the same day or within a much shorter time frame.

Focused, In-Depth Evaluation

Our face-to-face assessments are thorough and personalised. This is where we gain a full picture of your condition, movement patterns, lifestyle needs, and goals. Every step of the evaluation is designed to help us recommend the most effective orthotic solution—whether it’s for mobility support, pain management, or functional improvement.

Guided by Technology, Grounded in Expertise

Using cutting-edge 3D scanning and casting techniques allows us to design orthoses that are highly accurate and comfortable. Combined with clinical expertise, this approach ensures the final device supports your body correctly and integrates seamlessly into your daily life.

Clear Communication Every Step of the Way

Throughout your assessment, our orthotists will explain what they’re doing and why, so you feel informed and involved in the process. Once the orthosis is ready, we’ll arrange a fitting appointment and continue to support you with any adjustments or follow-up care you may need.
